For the University of Phoenix I used targeted keywords, concise copy and direct Call To Actions (CTAs). They helped capture 50% more traffic than our goal.

Keys to Driving Traffic to Your Website
To attract more traffic to your site, you have to start by knowing two things:
- The benefits of your product or service
- Your most profitable customers
Choose keywords based on your top differentiators and what your customers will want from a business like yours.
If you have a brick and mortar location that customers have to come to in order to do business, you should include geo-identifiers, such as the name of your city.
Use these words to saturate your web copy, at about 2.5 percent. Your headlines and sub-headers should contain these keywords whenever possible.
If you don’t see results within the first two to three months, choose new keywords and try again.
