Trim the fat and make it easy for customers to see your value and make a decision
Consumers, including me, really appreciate a clear, direct message. With so many options competing for our attention we need to know up front the benefits we’ll get from your focused content.
Why Readers and Future Customers Want Focused Content
The reason: we’re usually looking for a solution to a problem or want something specific. Drawing us in with a clever story or engaging us with a stunning image doesn’t always work because we’re too intent on finding what we want. Just tell us about the information we’re looking for.
When we see focused content, we:
• Get answers to the topics we’re searching for
• Know how to get more information through links to other web pages or with a number or email
• Understand the values you stand for—service excellence, a drive to educate and serve
• Decide if we want a deeper relationship with you and your brand
3 Steps to Creating Focused Content
Whatever your content topic, here are the three steps to develop focused content to speak directly to your client base:
1. Focus on the benefit you want to provide – A solution, entertainment or information that elevates your clients in some way or another.
2. Focus on results that can be proven or are best practices— If you have a unique way of doing things and it’s something you provide your clientele, then this is what you should share. Or, discuss the steps that you use that are best practices or get proven results.
3. Create a clear call to action to encourage client engagement—Connect future clients to a “request for information form”, remind them they can call a number or download a white paper to deepen their engagement to your brand.
In an ultra-competitive world where information and distractions are all around, offering solutions and valued information that clients want can help build your leadership in your field and has a better chance to build a long-term relationship with you.
If you’d like to develop your own focused content, keep the three steps above in mind. If you’d prefer to work with a professional who can create additional benefits for your company through focused keywords, high and deep funnel selling copy and other proven techniques, keep me in mind.
